Jason H. Tam, M.D. is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery with Mount Sinai Doctors, specializing in sports medicine. Dr. Tam is Board-Certified in both Orthopaedic Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.  He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Bucknell University, graduating with Departmental Honors. He then earned his Doctorate of Medicine from New York Medical College and was awarded the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Award. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Westchester Medical Center where he also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Tam finished his specialty fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine.

He is an active member of numerous professional societies, including the Arthroscopy Association of North American (AANA), the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). Dr. Tam’s research has been presented at the Radiology Society of North America Meeting, Eastern Orthopaedic Association Annual Meeting, and the Louis R.M. Del Guercio, M.D. Lectureship and Research Day. In addition, Dr. Tam is actively involved in the care of local high school and college athletes.

Dr. Tam specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery, focusing on complex knee and shoulder pathologies. He is trained in the surgical as well as nonoperative treatment of many common injuries such as meniscal tears, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears, and osteoarthritis.
